John Lappie is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. He received his Master’s and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. From 2015-18, Dr. Lappie was a post-doctoral research associate at the Center for Local Elections in American Politics. His primary research interests include campaigns and elections, especially local elections, and the ways in which institutional, demographic, and contextual factors influence voter and candidate behavior.
